Basic Functions and Structure

  • Material:

    Made of tin-plated thin steel plate (tinplate), formed by stamping process, and coated with a layer of tin (Sn) on the surface, it has excellent corrosion resistance and weldability.

  • Top/Cone:

    Equipped with an aerosol valve (including nozzle), capable of withstanding internal pressure and controlling the ejection of contents;

  • Bottom/Dome:

    Seals the bottom of the container, providing structural support, and some designs have grooves to enhance pressure resistance.

  • Features:

    Low cost, high strength, suitable for large-scale automated production, often used in "three-piece can" structure (can body + top cone + bottom dome sealed together).

Instructions

1. Matching Specifications
The top and bottom covers are precisely matched with the diameter, thickness and thread/wrap structure of the cans body (such as Φ52mm, Φ65mm).
Common standard interfaces:
Center hole diameter of the top cover: 38mm, 58mm (corresponding to different valve core models)
Thread type: Internal thread or external thread (depending on the design of the valve body)

2. Sealing Treatment
The inner side should be coated with chemical-resistant sealant (such as epoxy phenolic resin, butyl rubber gasket), to prevent leakage or corrosion of the contents.The sealant should be compatible with the contents (such as alcohol, propane, water-based solutions, etc.), to avoid swelling or detachment.

3. Rolling Seal Process Requirements
The top cover and the tank body are mechanically locked together through double seams to ensure airtightness.
After rolling seal, the following inspections are required:
Body Hook ≥ 0.7mm
Cover Hook ≥ 0.7mm
Overlap Rate ≥ 50%
Tightness ≥ 90%

4. Pressure Test
The finished tanks must pass the pressure resistance test (typically ≥ 1.2 MPa) and the burst test (≥ 1.8 MPa) to ensure safety.

Critical Defect "Red Line" 

The following defects are absolutely unacceptable and should be rejected or scrapped in full batches:

  • Corrosion perforation
  • Cracks or fissures
  • Missing or severely misaligned sealing gaskets
  • Size deviations that prevent sealing

According to the "GB/T 14258-2023 General Technical Requirements for Aerosol Packaging", the top and bottom covers of the aerosol cans must meet the three core indicators of airtightness, pressure resistance, and corrosion resistance. Any defect that affects these three performance indicators is considered a serious non-compliance.
