Basic Functions and Structure

  • Material: Made of tin-plated thin steel plate (SPTE, also known as tinplate), which is formed by stamping. The surface is tin-coated to prevent corrosion.
  • Structure:The appearance is circular. There is usually a depression or protrusion in the center (referred to as "bottom reinforcement"), which enhances the compressive strength;
    The edge design is a rolled edge, and it is connected to the can body through a double seam (Double Seam);The inner side is coated with food-grade epoxy resin coating to prevent the contents from corroding the can.
  • Usage: To seal the bottom of the can, to withstand the internal pressure (such as the vapor pressure generated after sterilization), to ensure sealing and safety.

Material selection

Use food-grade tin-coated sheets that comply with GB 4806.9 or FDA standards. The tin coating should be ≥ 2.8g/m².

Anti-rust treatment

The tin coating has some anti-corrosion effect, but it may still rust in a high-humidity environment. During storage, keep it dry (humidity < 60%).

Avoid mechanical damage

The edge of the bottom cover is sharp. During handling, prevent scratches to avoid affecting the sealing quality of the can.

Prohibition of reuse

Food cans are one-time packaging. It is strictly prohibited to recycle old bottom covers for refilling.

Compatibility verification

The contents (such as acidic fruit juice, tomato sauce, meat broth) must be chemically compatible with the inner coating to prevent leaching or corrosion.

Storage and Transportation Recommendations

  • Storage Conditions: Cool, dry, well-ventilated, with relative humidity ≤ 60%, and avoid direct sunlight;
  • Stacking Method: Use pallets for stacking, with a height not exceeding 1.5 meters to prevent deformation;
  • Transport Protection: Shockproof, moisture-proof, and avoid mixing with corrosive substances.

Safety Warning

  • It is strictly prohibited to modify or reuse privately;
  • Before use, check for rust, dents or leaks;
  • When disposing of it, completely empty the contents to avoid contaminating the environment.
  • If used for special foods (such as infant food, medicines), it must also comply with more stringent standards such as YBB or ISO 22000.
